Getting there & terminal
In Naples, the Siremar ferry departs from Molo XVIII and Molo XV; the port agency with the ticket counter is in the Stazione Marittima on Calata Porta di Massa, around 300 metres from the berth. By car, follow the port signage for "Palermo, Catania, Isole Eolie" and staff instructions. Without a car: take the Alibus to Immacolatella Porta di Massa and walk six minutes, or metro line 1 to Duomo and walk eight minutes; from Napoli Centrale station take line 1 to Duomo. Car parks are at Piazzale Pisacane in the port and on Corso Garibaldi.
In Milazzo the ferry docks at Moli Eolie Nord and Sud or at Banchina Dente XX Luglio. The Caronte & Tourist Isole Minori counter is at Via dei Mille 26, with a second in the Terminal Traghetti at Via Tindaro La Rosa 90.
Check-in & departure
If you bought online, in the app or by phone from Caronte & Tourist, there's no counter needed: your ticket carries a QR code that crew scan on boarding. Tickets without a code are exchanged for a boarding pass at the port agency; in Milazzo the counter at Molo Eolie is open in the evening, to match the evening departure. The operator doesn't state a fixed number of minutes; with a vehicle, arrive well before the evening departure.
Departure is in the evening, on two fixed weekdays from early June to end of September, with an additional weekend departure from mid-July to mid-September. The weekdays and stopovers for your departure are in the timetable.
On board
The Laurana sails this route, a ferry around 123 metres long with inside and outside cabins with bathrooms, numbered seats in a dedicated lounge, and deck passage in the communal areas. A self-service restaurant and bar are on board, with a children's area on some ships in the fleet. Given the evening departure and dawn arrival off Stromboli, a cabin is worthwhile; that way you experience the mid-morning island calls well rested on deck. The vehicle deck is closed during the crossing.
Vehicle, bike & pets
Cars, motorbikes and campers travel on board, along with bicycles and sports equipment. Gas-powered vehicles travel with the system switched off. The operator also carries an unaccompanied vehicle by reservation at the counter or with customer service. Dogs must wear a muzzle and lead, and small animals should travel in a carrier where possible; on board, pets are allowed everywhere except the restaurant. Arrival & onward travel
Milazzo lies on Sicily's north coast, around 40 kilometres west of Messina. From the port you're on the A20 within minutes: half an hour east to Messina, a good two hours west to Palermo, and via the A18 from Messina to Taormina and Catania. Milazzo railway station lies outside the centre, with city buses linking it to the port.

Tickets are also available in the app, at port counters and at travel agents; the line runs as a publicly contracted service, with residents of the islands having their own fares.
